The short version: Bosun is built so that we never receive your data. We operate no servers, no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. Text you explicitly ask to translate goes directly from your device to Anthropic under your own API key — never through us.

When you explicitly request a translation — by tapping the translate keys (➤ / →) or the read-copied key (📋) — the selected text is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection directly from your device to Anthropic’s Claude API, using your own Anthropic API key. That request is governed by Anthropic’s privacy policy. We are not in the loop: no Treemoondus server ever receives, relays, sees, or stores your text. Nothing is sent automatically or in the background.
Today Bosun translates with Anthropic’s Claude API and no other provider. If a future version lets you use a different AI service you already subscribe to, the same rules apply and nothing changes about our role: the request goes directly from your device to the provider you choose, under your own key, governed by that provider’s privacy policy — never through a Treemoondus server. Any provider Bosun supports will be named here and named in the app, and you will be asked to agree again before your text is sent anywhere new.
Bosun reads your clipboard only when you tap the 📋 read-copied key, at which point iOS shows its own paste-permission prompt. The copied text is translated, shown to you in the keyboard’s reading pane, and discarded. It is never stored, never read automatically, and never sent anywhere except the translation request you initiated.
iOS requires the “Allow Full Access” setting for a keyboard to use the network (needed for translation) and read the clipboard (needed for the read-copied feature). Typing, emoji, and dictation work without it. With or without Full Access, Bosun collects no keystroke data, runs no analytics, and shows no ads.
We retain nothing, because we receive nothing. Deleting the app deletes all local data, including your stored API key. For data sent to Anthropic under your key, see Anthropic’s retention terms — that relationship is yours, under your own account.
Bosun is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone (see above: we collect nothing).
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date, and material changes will be re-consented in the app.
